Appearance: Always a break from the everyday, Tangletail is a lovely white she-cat with tortoiseshell markings. Marbled with black and orange, these markings are mainly around her ears, all along her tail, a ginger spot on her front right paw, and a few patches on her hind paws. Together they make something of a helmet that covers her ears, top of her head and down around her eyes. Her left side is mostly black while the right side is mostly ginger. Her nose and paw pads are all pink, but a black spot sits on her nose and has been something of a birthmark ever since she was born. Where ginger and black aren't making her look like a walking hurricane, Tangletail is a solid, soft, fluffy white like newly fallen snow. Average in height and length, Tangletail isn't too unusual until you get to her tail. About two-thirds of the way down her tail, there's a kink. Normally it's not too noticable unless she twitches her tail. This is the result of her tail being caught in a twoleg door when she was an apprentice. Other than that, there's not too much to Tangletail saving for her bright leaf-green eyes.
Personality: Fondly described as a "walking disaster", Tangletail is a girl with all the right intentions and not enough coordination to pull it all off. Trouble tends to follow in her pawsteps and her quirks are endless. Clanmates are often confused, bemused and amused by this stumbling, klutzy, heart-of-gold she-cat. Tangletail is loyal to a fault and will die readily for her clan, but she's not good for much and she knows it. Due to the kink in her tail, Tangletail is quite a klutz. She seldom climbs, tends to drift to one side or another when she walks and has a dire fear of stepping stones or crossing water on a log for fear of falling and drowning. Thankfully, retraining herself has kept her active as a warrior because she has learned to compensate for her poor balance. Tangletail tries as hard as possible, throwing herself into any project with bright eyes and (sometimes literally) bushy-tailed enthusiasm. She likes feeling useful and will work herself to the bone for the betterment of the clan. Lighthearted, this tortoiseshell she-cat makes friends everywhere with an easy smile, laughing eyes, gentle words, soft encouragement and the fire of passion for her clan that seems to burn brighter than the stars. Tangletail can withstand the most bitter of cats and is more amused than offended when others get angry at her and yell. She believes that it's good to vent and that there's no such thing as a completely evil cat. Also she believes that laughter is the best medicine and so is often seen lingering around the medicine cat den when someone is on the mend, distracting them from their discomfort and pain.
History: Bramblewing and Beesting are the pair that brought Tanglekit into the world along with three brothers and three other sisters. Her brothers were named Quick-kit, Thistlekit and Volekit while her sisters were named Redkit, Dapplekit and Spark-kit. Tanglekit was just like every other kit, playful and happy almost all the time. She played with her siblings, whispered when the elders told stories and could never sit still. Her parents, denmates and clanmates were all highly amused by her high-energy self and Tanglekit loved to make them laugh and smile even when times were tough. At six moons old, Tanglekit became Tanglepaw and was mentored to an older warrior named Greyfoot. Tanglepaw adored her mentor because his age and experience were footholds for her to learn things quickly but his eccentric personality fit with her perfectly. She loved his odd stories, unusual sense of timing and the fact that he always knew just what to say or do when she needed help.
During late leaf-fall when she had been an apprentice for about three moons or so, Tanglepaw went with the clan medicine cat to help carry herbs. They went toward twolegplace to collect catmint but a twoleg was out and saw them. The twoleg's dog seperated Tanglepaw from the medicine cat and she was cornered between a wall and trashcan. The twoleg picked her up and took her into its home. As soon as possible, Tanglepaw tried to escape before the door closed. She almost made it. The door closed on her tail. Never before or since has Tangletail felt such a pain and when it rains, she still feels phantoms of it. Tanglepaw was laid up for weeks recovering. Her balance was completely thrown off and it was all she could do to walk across the clearing at first. With time she regained some sense of balance, though if she doesn't pay attention she is prone to stumbling or drifting to one side or another even today. At fifteen moons of age, Tanglepaw became Tangletail.
