X.There was something that was always rather soothing about the river, though if it was from the way the water sounded as it charged on to it's destination, or if it was the way that the light played on the surface of the water, casting glinting reflections this way and that, even during the darkest of days. Though it's beauty was stunning as it's comparable temper, the feeling was fleeing from her paws as she sat bank side, watching the surface of the water, idly waiting for a shadow to dart by. Fishing was something that always gave you time to think, not always a good thing however. The white, fluffy tail swept from one side to the other, giving some feeling back to the white she-cat. Blue eyes blanked out in concentration of other things than fishing, as she kneaded her paws on the frozen ground, through the soft but freezing snow. There wasn't necessarily anything in particular on her mind, but this was her favorite thinking place. A shadow darted by, and the young white warrior darted her dry paw into the ice fringed river, and scooped out nothing. Blue eyes narrowed in irritation. This was the third fish she'd missed! Normally she was a talented fisher, a skill that almost every ReedClan cat possessed, but today, it was going horridly wrong.
X.As Moonflower pulled her dripping paw closer, the wind blew, and she could feel the chill shoot straight to skin on her paw. With a sigh and a few quick licks, she licked the river water from her flaw, before lowering it again, just above the snow, just in case. The longer she was motionless on the bank of the river, the deeper the sun sank, towards the horizon for the night. Light was fading fast, and she was supposed to go on patrol soon, and these fish weren't cooperating! Her feather like tail lashed this time, no pretense of mere waving this time. She could have hissed out her irritation, but it that would be fairly pointless, really. With a sigh, Moonflower looked towards the horizon. She could easily race back to camp in time for the patrol, but the soothing solitude of her current location was a temptation that she was finding hard to say no to.
X.As she went back to her fishing, the clouds opened up, and soft, fat flakes of ice drifted down, twirling and dancing on the wind, layering everything with another touch of frozen water. The snow touched down on the young warrior, camouflaging her even further, except for her bright blue eyes that were unfocused again. no thoughts in particular crossed her mind, and history began to touch on her mind and heart. With a huffing sigh, she shook her head firmly, before arching her back in a stretch, that relieved the cramp that had been forming. To dwell on the past is to live in the past, and the past is not always happy to be disturbed by the present. As Moonflower turned to make her way back towards camp, her pawprints beginning to be filled in by fresh snow, she kept her ears sharp for other animals, cats and non. Company, would perhaps be best after all for her to indulge in some company. It kept memories and emotions away, some things didn't need to be brought back. Still, her paws were numb, and she couldn't feel her ears, how happy she'd be to eat a piece of fresh-kill and curl up in her nest for the night. The cold could only get worse as the day ended and the night rode in like a dark omen.
