Appearance: From afar Kitewing looks like a pure white cat, but close inspection reveals faint cream striping on his tail and face. Kitewing is called a cream lynx point by humans; the point for the markings on his face and tail, and cream lynx for the color and tabby striping of those points. His four paws are all tinted with cream, but the color is so faint it can hardly be seen. The cream tabby markings could be considered off -- instead of darker cream stripes, it looks almost as if Kitewing has white stripes instead. Pair this off with coloring on his face only around his muzzle, eyes, and nose, and you've got Kitewing.
His eyes are an unremarkable pale blue color, high on his face. The face itself is rather narrow, with a prominent downward curving arc from the forehead to the nose. Still, it is not as narrow as to make him look too different from his Clanmates. The cream markings on his face stop abruptly right above Kitewing's eyes, leaving a predominately white forehead. The color creeps to the side of his face, and then fades into a white base. A great multitude of long white whiskers sprout from his muzzle, and his nose is pale pink. His ears are perhaps the most noticeable part of his face, as they are unproportionately large.
Kitewing has a short, silky coat. It is almost always clean and neatly groomed, as it is incredibly easy to take care of. It is not very thick, however, and you can often see him shivering violently in leaf-bare, as the cream point is especially susceptible to the cold. A thin white scar runs across his right side, and his fur seems to refuse to grow over the flaw. As a result, a nearly harmless scar attracts quite a bit of attention.
His build is pretty unremarkable -- he looks just like your average Joe in terms of size. He is neither lean nor plump. His legs are not unnaturally long, nor are his muscles unnaturally large. In fact, his legs are rather skinny, and one back foot seems larger than the rest. His front legs look to be longer than his back, but not by much. One could say that his build is the worst aspect of his appearance.
Personality: A classic NightClanner, Kitewing is hungry for territory and always willing to advance NightClan's position and his own. He is aggressively defensive of his Clanmates and their actions. He scorns loners and kittypets, believing that they are too pathetic to join the Clan. He saves the most scorn for the other Clans, though, and wants to make them look bad by using the Warrior Code against him. His greatest dream in life is to outwit another Clan's leader.
He is fiercely loyal to NightClan. Stormstar is his greatest idol in life, and another major goal of his is to grow older to be like his leader. It is from him that he gets his aspirations to become leader. Stormstar can do absolutely no wrong in this warrior's eyes. He could cause a war and kill half of NightClan, and still Kitewing would be defending his leader's actions. In turn he is loyal to the Warrior Code, and will stick by it, whatever it takes. It would be amusing to watch Kitewing have to choose between his leader and the Warrior Code.
Despite his loyalty, Kitewing does have his flaws. He can be lazy, and is more than willing to sleep the day away. He lacks the proper respect to his elders, and StarClan. He is too power-hungry for his own good. And he is more often than not caught up in his fantasies, willing to postpone all warrior duties for the sake of a single daydream. Most warriors get tired of him sooner or later, and he doesn't have a great many friends.
History: Kitewing had an unremarkable kithood. He was born to a warrior father by the name of Cypressclaw, and a kittypet mother named Duchess. When their litter was born, Cypressclaw took their firstborn son -- then named Kite -- to NightClan. There he was renamed Kitekit, and he grew up with another queen and her litter. He was told nothing of his past, only that his mother was not in NightClan, and he had three siblings, two sisters and a brother.
When he turned 6 moons old he was named Kitepaw, and was apprenticed to a senior warrior named Swallowflight. She was very strict and abided by the the Warrior Code closely. She passed all of this down to Kitepaw. When Kitepaw was 8 moons old, he learned the truth about his heritage, when one of Cypressclaw's rivals, a tom named Bramblepelt, was putting down Cypressclaw about it. At first Kitepaw confronted Bramblepelt, outraged and disbelieving, but his father intervened and told him all about Duchess and his three siblings.
When he heard this he grew disgusted and ran away into the woods. After spending the night in the forest, he resolved to go and 'rescue' his kittypet siblings. He spent the whole day wandering around the daunting Twolegplace they lived in, and finally found them still living with their mother. When he told his sisters and brother about NightClan, one of the sisters, by the name of Poppy, followed him along with his brother, Falcon. The last sibling, Bluebell, declined his offer and chose to stay with Duchess instead.
When he returned to NightClan he was dismayed to see that Cypressclaw had disappeared. Poppy and Falcon were accepted into the Clan, and a patrol that included Kitewing was dispatched to track down Cypressclaw. They found him dead on the SunClan border, without a mark on him. The medicine cat declared that no warrior, however cleanly they could murder, could have killed him. Eventually it was ruled that Cypressclaw had committed suicide.
Heartbroken but having nowhere to retreat to, Kitewing continued his apprenticeship. At the age of 12 moons he had his warrior ceremony and was named Kitewing. He has lived as a warrior since then.

Roleplay Sample: He was nearby, collecting herbs. When the first cry sounded, he first decided against following the sound; he was sure that it would be promptly taken care of. But when the yowls did not stop, Thrasherflight heaved a sigh and decided to check it out. Leaving his precious herbs, the dappled torbie calico threaded through RiverClan territory, mind spinning with thoughts. The loud voices notified him that a murder had taken place. While that was a novelty in itself, he also recognized the voices of many -- which meant that this was a unique case of killing. It also meant that it was a worse case of killing.
The medicine cat reached the edge of the crowd, and thrust himself forward. His green eyes sparkled with annoyance, and hid the blatant fear that rushed through him. "What's going on?" the torbie demanded roughly, pushing himself to the front. There he met what was going on; a cadaver, the cadaver. Shock thumped in him, and dimly he realized it was Spiderpaw, the apprentice who had not been in camp yesterday. Shock and grief made his limbs heavy, and his fear became uncontrollable. There was a murderer in their midst, and he had not known.
He grappled with his emotions, unable to control them. When the shock died down, another emotion overtook him: rage. Why had StarClan let someone commit this despicable act? Why had they not warned him? This was hardly something that could escape their knowledge of the future. And now Spiderpaw was dead, dead and gone. He was joining StarClan, joining far too young. His mouth twisted into a horrible disgusted grimace. Why had he even chosen this path if he would just watch his Clanmates die before his unbelieving eyes?
Upon closer inspection of the body, he garnered that the apprentice had been drowned. How ironic, that a RiverClanner be killed through drowning. "We need to get him back to camp," he mewed bleakly, knowing that the others would already be aware of this fact. His voice cracked, and he cursed himself. He cursed StarClan. He cursed the river. Nothing was going right. "And we need to find the killer," he finished in a broken voice, aware that the others knew this fact as well. "Who's going to carry him?"
