Moonflower A white, long furred she-cat with blue eyes.
* * * Age: 23 Gender: She-cat Rank: Warrior Clan: ReedClan
* * *
Appearance: Now, I know I have a tendency to work from the inside out, generally easier that way, at least in my unimportant opinion. Well, this time, I'm gonna go in reverse, just for some irregularity. Now, at first glance, and I do mean a glance, you see Moonflower, a pretty she-cat with long white fur. On second glance, you pause for a moment, there's something more there, like with everyone else. Her fur, is like her litter-mates. Long enough, but not so much as to make her look like a walking ball of fluff. Though that mental image is very, very, very, amusing to most. The white coloring of her fur lends her benefit after benefit when it comes to hunting in the snow. From blending in, to keeping her warm on long expeditions through the territory. Unfortunately, there are several draw backs to the long fur. Her fur tends to take forever to groom and dry after wet, and sickness are a greater risk for getting sick, that is, her kin and her, due to that simple fact.
Below the long fur, she's a rather slim and sleek cat, streamline and all that, with just enough muscle to make her an actual threat. Like the rest of her Clan, she's a competent swimmer, and during the warmer moons, she actually enjoys doing such things. She's built quite nimbly as well, and a little below average as far as height goes. Moonflower is quick of foot, and often enjoys running patrols, as it gives her a chance to use that speed that she has, as well as the fine control that comes with such speed.
I'm sure you know what comes next in this paragraph! If you said recap, you are right! Congratulations! Let's get on with it, shall we? Moonflower is a slightly built cat, and smaller than average. She's quick paced when she wants to be, but doesn't quite have the stamina to carry her too far at top speed. She enjoys swimming when she can, and regrets that it take far too long to dry her fur. Her fur is a brilliant white, and a faint peach coloring around the edge of her ears. Her eyes are a strikingly brilliant blue that seem to bore into you should she just sit and stare for too long.
Personality:
Love is for all - Where there are some cats who reserve the love and gentle touches for their kin and friends, and shun the soft touches of stranger cats, Moonflower has never been such inhibited. She holds a great capacity to love within her, and the affection is not restrained to just her kin. Regardless of how aggravating her Clanmates can be. The way she sees it, if it were not for the whole of the Clan, none of them would survive for long on their own. Not with the constant bickering, constant fighting over small bits of territory. That is not to say that she is incapable of hate, for that's not the case, it's simply that it is not her default feeling towards those she does not know, or those she knows from other Clans. In Moonflower's opinion, there are those that have been treated badly by life, and a touch of affection and love is something that can heal smaller injuries to the heart. No one deserves outright cruelty, not unless they have earned it. It's often this though process that leads her to feel, well, at odds is perhaps the best way to describe it, with the punishment of the Warrior Code. Not everything in life is black and white. There's a lot of gray there.
A gentle touch - The cruelest thing you can do to an enemy, is not be cruel back to them, not to poke or prod their sore spots. No, the cruelest thing you can do to them, is to forgive them, and show them a softer way of things. It throws them off balance and can lead to confusion. Life is harsh enough, and to rip and tear at your comrades is simply foolish. This is why you won't find many a cat to have a problem with her. Generally, she keeps her thoughts to herself, and often you won't find out what she thinks of you unless you bug her honestly for her thoughts. When she was younger, the idea of bringing relief to an injured cat, made her pause, consider the path to a Medicine cat, but, the sight of blood and the sounds of pain turned her stomach. That left her will little choice beyond a warrior. Though her favorite place has always been the nursery, where the young kits are kept, and the sense of safety and warmth radiate from. Despite her rather gentle and kind nature, this doesn't inhibit Moonflower from doing what she must do when it comes to defending her home. In those situations, she does what she must and what she can.
Quiet, not mute - Most mistake one's silence for compliance or ignorance. Not always a wise assumption in the long run. Moonflower was raised by her mother, and if nothing else, she raised her kits to think for themselves, and to stand on their own four paws. Something that seems quite impossible at times. Despite the hotheadedness of some of her siblings, Moonflower is more inclined to keep her mouth shut. After all, if your mouth is open and senseless sound is pouring out, how ever are you going to learn anything? It must be a hard lesson for some to learn, but for her, it was definitely much one of the easier life lessons. Moonflower, enjoys listening to others in the Clan talk, after all, that's the best way to keep up on the going on's of the Clan. Doesn't mean that keeping her mouth shut about some things is the easiest thing for her to do. Actually, it's one of the more challenging things at times, but a life of practice has helped immensely.
Enough for everyone - In all probability, Moonflower would most likely make an outstanding queen. She has the temperament for it, and enjoys visiting friends who are raising or expecting kits of their own. However, there is much she still would like to do and see in her life, and though she could just as easily return to the life of a warrior afterwords, she stands on the brink of indecision. Still, until she makes the plunge or decision, you can often find her visiting with friends, or seeking out the ill to see how they are. She has a very, strong, desire to make sure that others are fine and safe, and often makes her rather anxious to see her kin in the line of danger. Still, she often keeps about her littler-mates, making sure they are well. Often one or two cats have asked her why she pursues the life of a warrior, when her heart must be with the queens. It's simple, she's a young cat, and like all young warriors, there is a desire to see their home safe and protected. She is a gentle cat, but Moonflower is not one to rest on her laurels and watch others do the work. Her claws still work just fine, and she's keen on making sure others know this. However, maybe a few moons down the road this will change, who is to know? Right now, she's satisfied keeping after her litter-mates, who can easily get themselves into trouble, and dreaming of her own tomorrow.
History: Like the rest of her siblings, Moonflower was raised by her mother, and her mother alone. She grew up listening to the whispers and comments about her mother, and like her siblings, it made her fur feel too tight for her body, and made her pulse pound. She never saw her mother's blindness as a disability, but more as a gift to truly see the world around them, something that the other cats were clearly missing from their lives. It endeared her mother to her, and in her opinion, made her family stronger for the stress of it all. Despite how she is now, Moonflower was quite a chatty and opinionated little kit, but that would soon change. At six moons old, Moonkit became Moonpaw, and it was most likely the most thrilling and stressful moments of her life. Knowing that this was the start of the rest of her life. There was a sense of nostalgia about the whole thing, really.
Her mentor was a calm and centered tom, by the name of Shadefoot. They made a strong bond between mentor and apprentice, and became friends as well, though it all came crashing down before long. Shadefoot passed away due to greencough, after a famine during leaf-bare. Moonpaw was upset and distressed, and for a long time, she was merely a shadow of her normally sweet and loving self. When she was assigned a new mentor, a harsh she-cat by the name of Larksong, Moonpaw became more and more withdrawn, until she rarely said a word to her siblings, let alone her friends. When she became a warrior, taking the name Moonflower, it was a bittersweet day, but it was not enough to mend every hurt.
